EEG-Controlled Robotic Hand

Cardboard prosthetic-hand prototype driven by EEG brain signals via Arduino.

Context

Hackathon project exploring brain-computer interfaces for assistive technology — the idea that a hand could be moved by thought alone. ⚠️ To fill in: event name and date.

What we built

  • Recorded brain signals with an EEG headset.
  • Processed and classified the signals to detect the user's intent.
  • Sent commands to an Arduino driving servo motors in a mechanical hand built from cardboard as a quick prototype.
  • Result: the hand moves in response to the user's own thoughts.

Tech

EEG headset · signal processing (Python) · Arduino · servo motors · cardboard prototyping

Why this shows I can…

Work across biosignals, software and hardware in one loop — an early step toward her later interest in prosthetics, physical AI and intent detection from gaze.
