Software Engineering Research Intern – JetBrains (2024)

Designed and built a smart seminar system end to end, from user research to a SvelteKit web app with CI/CD.

Context

Heidi's first JetBrains internship (June–November 2024), on the internship project "Smart Seminarian". She applied with an MVP and code snippets built for the project's test task (December 2023).

What I did

  • UX first: designed and delivered the end-to-end UI/UX for a smart seminar system, informed by user research and usability testing.
  • Full-stack build: developed the web interface in SvelteKit backed by Python and SQLite.
  • DevOps: set up CI/CD with GitHub Actions and Docker; deployed with Cloudflare.
  • Quality: wrote unit tests for front-end and API stability.
